There’s something special about owning a Honda FD2 Type R, especially in iconic Championship White colour, and for these two friends, it’s been a bond that’s only grown over the past decade. Both of them have poured their passion into their cars, seeing the FD2 Type R as more than just a vehicle but an extension of who they are. With each modification – intakes, exhausts, suspensions, diffusers, lightweight wheels, and snug bucket seats – the cars have become distinct expressions of their owners’ dedication to performance, especially when they hit the track together at Sepang. It’s on those Sepang track days, fuelled by their shared thrill for speed and precision, that the bond is most evident, pushing limits and shaving seconds with every lap.
Today, they met up at Cartisan, a well-known and reputable workshop, eager to take their refined Type Rs out for a sunset drive. Rolling out side by side, their Championship White paintwork gleamed as the sun started to dip for the day, casting a golden glow over the city streets. The exhaust notes harmonised as they cruised, their cars practically twins in appearance yet unique in character. Each gear shift unleashed the full, naturally aspirated power of the K20 engine, raw and unfiltered, a driving experience untouched by modern cars’ insulation.
There was something magical about the way the two cars tangoed together, not just their performance upgrades but the shared appreciation for these cars’ heritage and purity. This was the kind of drive that reminded them both why they fell in love with the FD2 Type R – these were machines with a soul, cars that connected them to the road, demanding oneness with their drivers.
By the end of their drive, both friends felt the sense of fulfilment that only an evening like this could bring. Their shared journey wasn’t just about cars but about preserving a piece of JDM history in Singapore. For these two enthusiasts, the FD2 Type R represented more than a decade of commitment, connection, and the irreplaceable feeling of driving something truly alive.
