The cool, predawn air is alive with a low, throaty rumble, a sound that’s unmistakable yet never invasive of pure Italian engineering in motion. Three Maserati GranTurismos in all different variants – the GranCabrio, the GT S and the MC Stradale, each cloaked in the darkness of night, wait under the city’s sporadic streetlights with familiar curves just visible. Each of them houses a Ferrari-derived 4.7L V8 engine with over 400 horsepower, capable of stirring emotions with the smallest touch of the pedal.

To the trio, this drive is more than just another outing. With every shift, they feel the mechanical heartbeat of their cars, a powerful pulse connecting them to both the past and present of Italian automotive legacy. A journey of steel and spirit, the trio’s exhaust notes echo off the towering buildings, blending with the dawn chorus of the waking city. The journey led them from the grid of the city centre towards the open roads of Marina south. As the sky begins to turn from inky black to the first hints of light, their path widens, and the cars glide in sync, almost as if they’re partners in a cinematic dance.

The sky is now painted in dawn light as they find themselves overlooking the sea – a moment of stillness that contrasts with the vibrant roar of the city drive. Each driver, in their way, has found something on this drive. Perhaps it’s the reminder of the clarity that comes with sharing passion with those who understand it best. One thing is certain: they’ve all come away with great appreciation for the power of their machines.
